Meet Member Artist Maureen Sorensen…

My name is Maureen Sorensen and I have enjoyed and pursued artistic expression through a wide variety of media… from stained glass, kaleidoscopes, and jewelry, to fluid acrylic pouring, soft pastels, cyanoprints, and gelli prints.

Within the past couple of years, I have turned my artistic sights to the Minnesota State Fair crop art competition. After 50 years of visiting the annual display, I entered two pieces in 2023, earning a ribbon and being among a handful of entries selected for display at the MSP International Airport gallery. This year, my crop art exhibit in both the Agriculture/Horticulture building and the Creative Activities buildings at the 2024 State Fair earned best of show plus purple, blue, red, pink, yellow, and white ribbons on entries.

I have been active in my community in and through the arts both in Prior Lake and in Savage. I look forward to meeting you at the Savage Area Arts Community in the near future.
