Meet Member Artist Kathy Lindsay…
My name is Kathy Lindsay, and I have been a resident of Savage for 10 years. I was born and raised in Iowa but have lived in the Twin Cities since graduating from college. I love living “south of the river” and especially in Savage!
I was excited to discover the Savage Area Arts Community upon retiring from a full time healthcare career in 2022. I currently own a private practice in the integrative medicine healing arts and practice part-time which allows me more flexibility to embrace my many hobbies, and attend “Open Art Studio” on Wednesday afternoons.
I give credit to my mom and dad for my crafting/art interests. They both created many things, and I learned a lot from them. I have always enjoyed artistic pursuits and have created many needlework projects in the past, but didn’t have much time while working full time. Since joining “Open Studio” I have been able to, finally, finish a latch hook rug kit my parents gifted me while in college. Over the years I made numerous needlework projects but more recently I have delved deeper into my photography and love capturing nature’s awe-inspiring moments.
Since joining the Savage Area Arts Community, I have explored new art forms, making holiday and decorative glass ornament hangings, wreaths, photo cards, nature photography prints/wall hangings, etc., and made great friends. I even learned to paint using a “pour acrylic” technique by one of the “Open Studio” artists. I have participated in my church’s annual holiday art fair and donate items to non-profit silent auctions.
If you enjoy the arts and being creative, I highly recommend coming to Open Studio on Wednesdays at the Savage Arts Center and joining us as a member of the Savage Area Arts Community.
Enjoy some of Kathy’s gorgeous photography and other unique works…
