Jane White grew up in Farmington, Minnesota as the child of a self-employed sign painter.  She loved making art and watched her father work with paint, brushes, and patterns. He always encouraged her to continue drawing and painting. 

Jane lives and has worked in the Savage area since 2000 and retired in 2014 from the  Mortgage Banking Industry. Her dream of becoming a professional artist had been put on hold while working and raising a family but in 2020 she returned to Normandale Community College where she will graduate with an Associate of Fine Arts Degree in May  of 2026.

Primarily painting in oil and pastel, Jane’s work has been displayed in the Normandale Community Fine Arts Showcase and Annual Student Exhibits each year since 2020. She  received the “Award of Merit” for her digital collage “Lost” in 2025. She is currently  exploring ceramics as a new medium but continues to paint with themes of family and  human connection. 

Jane believes art is an integral component of a thriving community and is looking forward to  working with fellow artists and attending Wednesdays’ open studio at the Savage Area Arts  Community.
