Jean Johnson grew up in Northfield, indulging in her love of drawing, painting, and art since she was very young. Jean attended the College of Visual Arts in Saint Paul and was an Art Director for more than 40 years. She now lives in Savage, spending her retirement years doing what she loves most – painting in her studio with her senior cats, Carl and Marilyn, by her side. 

Jean has an online business where she creates custom pet paintings of your furry family members: Pet Face Portraits, petfaceportraits.com. She also paints other subjects, including landscapes and animal portraits, and was accepted into the fine arts competition at the MN State Fair for three years, with one painting receiving an Minnesota Artists’ Association award. 

Jean is excited to be a part of the Savage Area Arts Community. Several of her paintings can be viewed at Savage City Hall during the month of July.
